Workshop addressed to employees of the construction sector.
In the era of climate change, actions in the construction sector aimed at reducing the carbon footprint are highly desirable for both ecological and economic, political and legal reasons. The presented good practices from other EU countries based on digital tools are in line with the needs of economic development and green and digital transformation.
The course is two-stage (2 Thuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m.), it assumes a two-week break for the implementation of new practices. It includes a lecture and workshop part with catering brakes (coffee and lunch).

Program
- Introduction to the issues of ecology, polycrisis, circular economy.
- Secondary building materials - presentation, features, examples and application methodologies. Advantages, disadvantages and possibilities of reuse of materials.
- Architecture and zero-waste policy in Europe – a brief historical outline, presentation of legislative and logistical solutions.
- Passports of building materials, mapping of building depots.
- Analysis of the situation in Poland and Europe, presentation of the construction process in the spirit of zero waste from concept to implementation, taking into account current legal regulations, design realities, inter-branch and executive coordination.
- Proposals for systemic solutions linking the demolition, design and construction sectors.
- Review of the theoretical part

Instructors
Bogumiła Kapica
A graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Academy of Music, an active architect and cellist. Owner of the BOKA projekt design studio, which bases its activity
on recyclable and natural materials. An experienced architect with building licenses and qualifications, a member of the Pomeranian Chamber of Architects. Lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk Tech. Member of the board of the National Association of Natural Construction. Coordinator of the Natural Building Festival. Passionate about the idea of zero waste, implementing it in everyday life, construction and architecture. An active educator at the National Centre for Culture and the Chamber of Architects, she conducts trainings in the field of zero waste and natural construction.
